Today I have uploaded the first couple of pages of my first webcomic series, Miss West.  The comic is apart of a new comic collective called Cup of Comics, which you can now visit here:

www.cupofcomics.com

The site is still in beta, but you can read the first two comics today (the rest will be updated as the week goes on).  You can start reading Miss West here:

Visiting the site will be most appreciated.
I hope this goes well, and I'll continue to do my best! :)

As an extra belated Christmas treat, I have some sketches from my Christmas adventure day yesterday.  I don't have any stories like I did last year, but I did see Sherlock Holmes and Tintin back to back.  Sherlock Holmes was pretty enjoyable, but like the first one, I wouldn't really get excited to ever watch it again.  Tintin was amazing, as expected.

So, I hope you guys have happy holidays and a great new year.  I'll continue to keep working...

Dog Comic Roughs + Cliffhanger

Hey, yo's!

Just posting up roughs from my animal drawing final.  I chose to do a comic featuring a little story about dogs and meat.  Page 5 is not up at the moment, but I'll put it up once everything is finished.  Enjoy!

Creature Roughs

Just a little renderings of the creatures I posted a couple days ago.  They're roughs at the moment, but I'll finish them up soon, so I can add them to my portfolio.

Creature Roughs

A little something from an assignment I'm working on for school.  So, here are a couple pok... I mean creature designs for you today.  I'll have a couple fully rendered ones for you soon.

It's been pretty busy lately.  I'm currently working on my comic, and I'm also feeling a little bit of an artist development limbo, so there's that to deal with.  Wish me luck!

Ink Fail a Day: Days 6 & 7

Two more for today (today, being 2 make up days):

Ink Fail a Day: Day 5 -_-

So, I'm gonna try something new with these ink drawings a day that a friend suggested to me.
Today's drawing was done with little to no underdrawing, so I can build up more confidence in my inking.  For this one, I just sketched out a quick gesture line of the figure, and then moved on with ink.  It came out okay, I suppose.

Also, I accidentally bought a jar of Liquitex's "Transparrent Raw Umber" (because it looked too much like Carbon Black, and I grabbed it without looking at the label), so I tried using it for this drawing.
It was pretty terrible.  Very runny and easy to make unwanted ink blots.

Ink Failing a Day: Day 14 (Read: 4)

Um... this certainly isn't going well, is it?  Well, I'll still do 30 days, cause it's great practice.
Today's ink drawing was done as part of a promotional piece for a project that some friends and I are working on at the moment.  Hope you enjoy!

Sketch Dump the 8th - 7.7.11 to 10.10.11

My eighth sketch book has been filled, so that means it's time for another sketch dump:

I just noticed I put down "3.3.11", but that's supposed to say "7.7.11" (July 7th, 2011).  Too lazy to change. -_-

Ink Drawing a Day: Day 3

A little late (or a lot?), but here is a Mummy redesign/interpretation done in a semi-modern style.  Enjoy!

Ink Drawing a Day: Days 1 and 2

So, I found this artist (Jake Parker http://agent44.com/blog2/ ) the other day who has been doing this "Inktober" every year, where he does an ink drawing a day for the month of October.  I wanted to try my hand at this, so I have accepted the challenge.

I'm a couple days behind, so I gotta catch up.  Here's the first two I've done:

Chemical Rifle

Got a little rifle concept design today.  I had to do this for my sketching college at Fullerton College.  Just a semi-steampunk/futuristic chemical rifle:

And as always, here is some process work:

I had these designs first and ended up with the gun with the tubes, but I scrapped that design for one that I felt more satisfied with:

The Garrett Memorial Sketch Dump for March - July 2011

My Seventh sketchbook has been completed (2 weeks ago)!!!
I got a new computer recently, so I'm finally getting to scanning all of this stuff.

This has been dubbed the "Garrett Hunter Memorial Toned Sketch Book" from March 2011 to July 2011. It's named such because I got to meet Garret from Mega64 at AX and I didn't have anything to sign, so front cover, why not? :D

Anyways, enjoy the sketches!

NORTHWEST: Many Different Versions of the Exact Same Thing

Hey everybody!  And by everybody, I mean probably nobody, 'cause I'm no longer sure of who actually looks at my blog nowadays.

Anyways,  I have a finished piece that's... well, finished.  However, I have many a couple different versions (with little variation), and I thought I should post them up here.

This is my top pick out of the ones that I have done.  Just a fun image of my characters, Miss West (right) and Miss North (left).  Not only did I want to create a fun image, but this serves as a test of what style of ink line art and coloring I should do for an upcoming comic I'm working on.

Here, I have my usual style of inking and character design, with a small half-tone coloring using mostly subdued and minimal amount of colors.  Black, White, Red (for West's hair), and a tone that would change depending on the mood of the image(in this case blue).

Here are the other variations I have come up with:

This one has a larger dot half-tone pattern with a black/white/red/gray.  I like how the half-tone dots create more of a design element, but I'm not entirely sure about it.

This one is similar to the first one, but has a black/white/red/gray/skin tone color scheme.  Not sure about the added brown skin tone.

This one uses a flat coloring style, instead of using half-tone.  Using black/white/gray as well as a more vibrant red for the hair, which pops out a bit more here.

Finally, this one also has flat coloring, but a color scheme similar to the very first one.
